Reports in Germany say Liverpool is interested in landing Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong this summer to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold after the England international confirmed his departure last week.

The 24-year-old’s contract at the German club has a release clause of € 35 million (around £29.5 million), and he is expected to leave this year.
Frimpong is on Liverpool’s radar, and Florian Plettenberg claims that the Reds are determined to recruit him this summer.
Other names have also been considered, but given the release clause, Frimpong to Liverpool could happen quite quickly if the Reds decide to proceed.
Reports in Germany suggest it is close to a done deal, but Fabrizio Romano and Mail Sport denied those claims and say that Liverpool are indeed in advanced talks with the Leverkusen side.
Jeremie Frimpong is said to be keen on joining the Merseyside club.
Frimpong has played as an advanced wing-back for Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen and excelled during their remarkable Bundesliga triumph last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists. This season, he has already scored five goals and assisted on another 12.
