Man City consider record-breaking move for AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders

Manchester City is prioritizing its midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window. TEAMtalk reports that City is interested in acquiring a talented star from AC Milan.

Manchester City’s ongoing rebuild may lead them to AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, although a deal is expected to be quite expensive.

After winning the Premier League for four consecutive years, Manchester City has experienced a rapid decline this season.

With two more games left, they are 18 points behind the new champions Liverpool and still unsure of qualifying for the Champions League, even with an additional spot available.

Kevin De Bruyne is leaving the club this season, Ilkay Gundogan is turning 35 in a few months, and concerns are also arising about Bernardo Silva wanting to join his boyhood club, Benfica. Although Rodri will soon return from long-term injury, City’s midfield investment opportunities remain strong.

Several names have been linked with a switch to The Etihad. AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders is rapidly becoming a top priority for Man City’s plan to rebuild Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The 26-year-old Dutchman is skilled at playing in many different midfield roles but is primarily known as a traditional No. 8, somewhat of an all-rounder. In 35 appearances this season in Serie A, he has scored ten goals and five assists.

Milan, therefore, wants a club record sale price to end his company with them.

They expect more than the £57m they accepted from Real Madrid for Kaká in 2009, a world record sum.

Manchester City is not the only club interested in Reijnders; Man Utd has been linked to him, and now Chelsea is also reportedly in the mix.
