How The Match Unfolded
The game began with a pretty balanced start. Bruno Fernandes shot a stunner that went just over the bar right before West Ham’s Max Kilman attempted a header from the center of the box, which was too high. West Ham looked well organised without the ball in the middle, but barely showed any open play creativity with it.
Moments later, Amad Diallo made a sensational shot after cutting and hitting it from the right side of the box, saved by Alphonse Areola, though Fernandes was unable to score the rebound.
As Man Utd’s intensity started to wane, Mohammed Kudus assisted Tomás Soucek, who shot with his left foot to the right bottom corner from a very close range and took the lead for West Ham.
West Ham came guns blazing in the 2nd half of the match, Ward-Prowse almost made it a quick second, but was easily denied by Altay Bayindir. In the 56th minute, West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka passed the ball inside the box to Jarrod Bowen, who shot with his left foot to the bottom right corner from the middle of the box, doubling their lead.
